The Aachen-Dresden-Denkendorf International Textile Conference (ADD-ITC) will take place in Dresden from 26 to 27 November. The provisional programme comprises 18 plenary and keynote presentations and more than 48 specialist presentations across three parallel sessions. The conference will be held in German and English, with AI-supported simultaneous interpretation provided via an interactive platform.
More than two-thirds of the presentations are from companies or are delivered jointly by industry and research institutions. The programme covers topics such as protective and functional textiles, sustainable polymer materials, fibre-reinforced structures and composites, digitalisation and artificial intelligence, the circular economy, technology transfer, and overarching development trends in the textile industry. The conference serves as a platform for exchange between academia, industry, trade associations and early-career researchers.
The textile industry of the future is set to be emission-free and digital, utilising sustainable, recyclable raw materials. Supply chains must be secure and transparent, and able to respond flexibly to market changes through regional on-demand manufacturing. At present, these megatrends are being developed at full speed in research and development.
Key topics at the conference include sustainable polymer material systems and circular economy concepts (from fast fashion to the circular economy), innovative machinery and process technologies, fibre-based high-performance materials and high-tech applications, as well as protective textiles and simulation-based optimisations in production.
