Heytex Group Core Business Part of Freudenberg

The antitrust authorities in Germany, Austria and Poland have approved the takeover of the Heytex Group’s core business by Freudenberg Performance Materials, the parent company of Mehler Texnologies. This means that Heytex’s core business with three production sites (in Germany and China) and all central functions will in future be part of the newly formed specialist for coated technical textiles.

38th Leipzig Graphic Exchange – Play Spaces

‘Spiel-Räume’ is the theme of the 38th Leipziger Grafikbörse. The exhibition, which will take place from 23 November 2024 to 26 January 2025 at the Museum für Druckkunst Leipzig, presents contemporary graphic art. The submissions from 87 artists from Germany, France, Ukraine and the Netherlands address the exhibition’s theme in different ways. New development from Mayer & Cie – First braiding machine with 48 carriers

Albstadt-based braiding machine manufacturer Mayer & Cie. has been offering braiding machines with 48 carriers since autumn 2024 and the first MR-11 braiding machine is due to leave the factory in Albstadt before Christmas. The first MR-15 machine equipped with 48 carriers is scheduled to follow in spring 2025. With braiding machines with 48 carriers, customers benefit from larger inner tube diameters, short set-up times and large spool volumes when processing yarn and wire.

BVDM business climate November 2024 – Business climate declines slightly

Following slight growth in October, the mood among companies in the German print and media industry deteriorated in November 2024. The business climate index determined by the BVDM recorded a seasonally and calendar-adjusted decline of 1.4 per cent compared to the previous month. Sentiment on company floors regarding current and future business development deteriorated slightly. The outcome of the US elections and the unclear political situation following the end of the ‘traffic light’ government are preventing business uncertainty from easing.

BVDM warns against – Bureaucratic hurdles for environmental claims

The German Printing and Media Industries Federation (BVDM) firmly rejects the pre-certification procedure for environmental claims proposed in the draft Green Claims Directive. The BVDM is calling for a comprehensive evaluation of the existing regulations before further new bureaucratic requirements are introduced. Additional certification obligations would lead to considerable costs and legal uncertainties, especially for small and medium-sized companies.

As Ponte’s pilot plant – Recycling of textile chemicals

Ence and ShareTex have conducted tests to recycle textile chemicals using an innovative technology that does not require high pressure, high temperatures or the use of harmful solvents. The new process will be further tested in the Spanish pilot plant of As Pontes, a joint venture between Ence and ShareTex, to facilitate the production of recycled textile fibres.

glasstec 2024 – RUCOINX printing inks

EU Deforestation Regulation – Postponement is not enough

The business climate index calculated by the German Printing and Media Industries Federation recorded a seasonally and calendar-adjusted increase of around 3.5 per cent compared to the previous month. At 96.1 points, the index reached its highest level since the start of the Ukraine war in February 2022 and was therefore around 9.7 per cent above the previous year’s level. Graphic Packaging International opts for Scodix Ultra 6000

PRINTCON – Trade fair for print diversity
