FESPA mourns the loss of founding father Michel Caza
Michel Caza, one of the ‘founding fathers’ of FESPA, passed away on 23 May 2026 at the age of 90. In 1961, Michel Caza was one of eight founding members of FESPA and remained a member of the FESPA Board until his retirement in 2014, serving as FESPA President from 1996 to 1999 and from 2000 to 2002.
EUDR relief measures: EU Commission lacks consistency
The German Printing and Media Association (BVDM) has criticised the European Commission’s proposals for revising the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) as inadequate. BVDM business climate up at the start of the year
At the start of 2026, the seasonally adjusted business climate in the German printing and media industry improved. The seasonally adjusted business climate index calculated by the BVDM showed an increase of 2.5 per cent compared with the previous month. The business outlook for the next six months and the current assessment of the business situation were better than in the previous month.
Print Solutions — SCREEN distribution partner for Bulgaria
SCREEN Europe has appointed Print Solutions as its official distribution partner for the Bulgarian market. This partnership is intended to strengthen SCREEN’s presence in Eastern Europe and provide Bulgarian printing companies with access to SCREEN’s portfolio of digital inkjet printing systems and computer-to-plate solutions.
Print Solutions was founded in 2013 as a family-run business and initially operated as a supplier of consumables. In 2017, the company expanded its range of services to include technical services and built up a team of engineers to support its growing portfolio of printing and finishing systems in Bulgaria.
The first discussions between the two companies revealed a clear mutual understanding. SCREEN’s engineering expertise and service network made a lasting impression, while Print Solutions recognised SCREEN as a partner that shares the same values in terms of consulting and customer-oriented decision-making.

BVDM Economic Telegram — Business climate clouds over
In December 2025, the seasonally adjusted business climate in the German printing and media industry deteriorated. The business climate index calculated by the BVDM showed a decline compared to the previous month and, at 86.3 points, was below the level of the same month last year. While companies rated the current business situation slightly better than in November, their assessments for the next six months were pessimistic.
