Industrial Print Integration (IPI)—Europe’s largest conference dedicated to industrial inkjet printing and emerging printing technologies—will take place in Neuss on November 24 and 25. The event brings together companies and institutions to explore the rise of functional printing for electronics and smart surfaces, advancements in jetting high-viscosity media, and the convergence of industrial printing and additive manufacturing.
Six keynote presentations will examine these developments from various perspectives. Bernd Zipper (Zipcon) will explore how AI is transforming print procurement and supply chain management. A collaboration between Axalta, Dürr Systems, and Xaar will showcase a robotic vehicle painting system that combines digital printing technology with advanced coating processes. Jon Harper Smith (Smithers) will provide strategic market analysis, while Jan Schrooten (Antleron) will present multi-material 3D printing platforms for patient-centric biomedical solutions, highlighting the fusion of printing technology and additive manufacturing. Witold Nawrot (XTPL) will present high-precision dispensing technology for micrometer-scale (1 µm) interconnects, and Johanna Rimböck (EV Group) will introduce inkjet solutions for the next generation of AR/VR optics.
Topics include printing systems for functional printing on a wide range of substrates, printhead designs optimized for high-viscosity inks, and innovative ink formulations. Furthermore, the program covers UV-LED curing and IR drying, the use of big data and AI for process optimization, sustainability, direct printing on shaped objects, plasma treatment of challenging materials, and sustainable 3D printing processes.
On November 23, a tour of the Epson Experience Center in Neuss will take place as part of the preliminary program; interactive demonstrations there will showcase innovations in printhead technology, robotics, and automation. The program also includes training on ink supply systems and a preview of an ESMA Academy course on inkjet technology for printed electronics applications.
ESMA
Active in the industrial printing sector since 1990, ESMA has evolved from a European association for screen and digital printing manufacturers into an organization representing industrial, functional, and specialty printing. Over the years, ESMA has developed the “Knowledge Hub” concept, which now provides cross-technology expertise to nearly 70 European manufacturer members and technology partners.
