Mark Andy, a leading global provider of printing and labelling solutions, has entered into an agreement with Sun Chemical under which Mark Andy will act as Sun Chemical’s North American distribution partner for printing inks, varnishes, adhesives and colour management solutions.
Under the agreement, Mark Andy Print Products will offer Sun Chemical’s portfolio of UV, UV-LED, water-based and specialised narrow-web technologies. The agreement provides converters with a one-stop shop for printing inks, varnishes, adhesives, printing plates, anilox rollers, squeegees, fixing tapes and other consumables.

The agreement comes at a time when the boundaries between label and flexible packaging production are becoming increasingly blurred. Label converters are increasingly adding pouches, sachets, stick packs, bags, shrink-wrap sleeves and other unsupported film applications to their production portfolios, whilst traditional flexible packaging manufacturers are exploring narrower in-line platforms to produce smaller runs more efficiently. Furthermore, the companies are working on high-speed flexographic printing applications, including the performance of low-migration inks and curing at higher printing speeds.
