The European printing industry is facing major challenges with the implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), particularly with regard to traceable documentation and the exchange of supply chain information required under new regulations.
The European graphic arts sector consists of around 100,000 printers, employing 600,000 people and generating a total turnover of 80 billion euros. To support the industry, Intergraf is hosting a webinar on 8 September 2025 from 12pm to 1pm CEST to present EUDR-X, a newly developed data exchange standard developed by the Online Print Initiative. EUDR-X is designed to enable the automated, standardised and secure exchange of EUDR-relevant data between all market participants and help companies to fulfil due diligence obligations efficiently and transparently.
EUDR-X was developed by the ESG working group of the Online Print Initiative in close cooperation with the German Printing and Media Industries Federation, software providers, print service providers and suppliers. The data standard can be seamlessly integrated into existing ERP and production systems, is based on JSON (recommended), supports XML and also CSV with restrictions. The Intergraf webinar offers a comprehensive introduction to the EUDR-X standard, the technical framework and the potential for integration into existing systems. It will include practical insights from leading companies such as Kölner Buchmanufaktur, Initiative Online Print and Estonian printer Print Best.
