With the RDJ 7/3, KARL MAYER offers a solution tailored to these requirements. The heart of the RDJ 7/3 consists of three split-execution Jacquard bars with the option for counter-movement operation—a configuration that unlocks greater design potential. New features include perforation designs with larger, near-circular openings. This allows for the creation of integrated patterns and functional zones with greater contour definition and variety. As before, mesh structures can be produced on one or both sides of the fabric. The RDJ 7/3 also excels in terms of coloration; the three-Jacquard-bar setup enables freely designed Jacquard patterns featuring two-color effects and varied color schemes. Up to six different colors can be combined in a wide range of ways to create visual variety and striking effects.
Another advantage of the machine is the ability to integrate subtle high-low structures and embossed patterns directly into the surface. To achieve innovative 4D effects, the third Jacquard bar introduces an additional yarn—alongside the monofilament—into the spacer layer in a pattern-controlled manner. Depending on the type used, this extra yarn can provide elasticity (via an elastane core) or increased shrinkage (due to its specific structure). At the designated locations, the distance between the fabric faces is reduced, creating diverse multi-layer designs. A total of eight bars dedicated to the spacer yarn ensure exceptional flexibility regarding structure and material composition when forming the spacer layer
Technical Data
The RDJ 7/3 is available with a working width of 138″ and a gauge of E 24. The distance between the knock-over combs can be adjusted easily and flexibly between 2 and 5 mm, enabling the production of fabric thicknesses suitable for a wide range of applications. The wireless Jacquard system enhances ease of operation by simplifying handling and improving visibility.
