at the ITMA ASIA

The KARL MAYER GROUP will be exhibiting at ITMA ASIA + CITME in Shanghai from 14 to 18 October 2024 in Hall 4, Stand C27. The international textile industry is undergoing rapid change and despite volatile market conditions, the Chinese textile industry is announcing export-driven growth rates.

The industry has many challenges to overcome and Chinese manufacturers must also adapt to the market dynamics, develop growth opportunities and generate profits with increasing cost pressure. In addition, the issues of sustainability and the shortage of skilled labour are becoming more important and KARL MAYER is presenting its brands at ITMA under the motto ‘Master the Change’. Visitors can find out about forward-looking solutions in the fields of mechanical engineering, digitalisation, textile products, applications and customer care. A wide range of warp knitting and flat knitting machines as well as textile trends will be on display at an accompanying in-house show at KARL MAYER. The event in Changzhou will begin one day before the start of the trade fair. A highlight will be the opening of the new showroom with solutions from all technology areas.

New market potential

The highlight of the exhibition is an HKS 2-S in the new gauge E 44, which is intended to open new doors in the outdoor fashion sector with its fine, lightweight yet dense textile products and high efficiency. The cosy articles score points above all for their protective effect against UVA rays and their high breathability. Another promising highlight is the use of an E 40 warp-knitted fabric as an outer fabric for down jackets. Visitors can also look forward to a presentation of the latest Care Solutions offerings. The focus will be on the myKM.ON customer portal, which gives users access to the digital world of the KARL MAYER GROUP, and the new Energy Efficiency Solution, which supports knitting mills on their way to lower power consumption and greater sustainability.

Flexibility and speed in the commodity market

On show will be a CMS 703 ki, which combines the high flexibility of STOLL’s knit-and-wear models with high efficiency. Another exhibit is the CMS 503 ki L with a working width of 50 inches, which is designed to enable a wide range of full-fashion applications. According to the manufacturer, the ADF 530-32 ki FLEX is the leader in terms of production versatility. Trousers, dresses, tops, jumpers and fabrics for upholstery applications are to be produced during the trade fair. The basis for the flexibility is an automatically adjustable comb gap control.

Processes with digital solutions

KM.ON presents digital solutions for warp knitting and flat knitting mills. The trade fair package includes Digital Production Management for the shop floor organisation of warp knitting mills, which enables seamless monitoring and control of production processes in real time, and the Quality Monitoring System, an AI-based innovation for quality management on warp knitting machines.

Less environmental impact during warp preparation

Another highlight is a warping machine of the latest generation, which can produce warp beams with high quality and great operational reliability. The plus point is an optimised pressure roller system without maintenance-prone hydraulics. The new CASCADE system also reduces steam consumption and costs during sizing. This is based on energy recycling within the cylinder dryer.

Technical textiles

Also on show will be fabrics made from glass and carbon fibres in the composite market; reinforcement textiles that can be produced efficiently and to a high quality on KARL MAYER’s multiaxial warp knitting machines and used in lightweight construction applications. In addition, weft moulding machines can be inspected at the in-house show. On display will be a 2nd generation TM WEFT for the production of lightweight weft knitted fabrics for outerwear fabrics and a new machine that specifically enables the production of lightweight glass fabrics for use in the construction industry.
