Kodak has launched the KODAK PROSPER Plus 5 Printing System, expanding the PROSPER Plus portfolio with a solution that integrates KODAK Stream inkjet technology into existing printing presses and post-press lines. PROSPER Plus 5 enables the printing of variable data, coding, serialisation, personalisation and versioning without the need to replace existing equipment.
With a resolution of 600 x 900 dpi, flexible drop size options and improved reliability, the PROSPER Plus 5 supports applications such as direct mail, packaging, security printing, lottery tickets and personal care products, enabling print shops to fulfil jobs using their existing production equipment. The new print finishing system is based on Stream technology and KODAK EKTACOLOR inks, combining image quality, speed and ease of use with the enhancements of the PROSPER Plus platform.
Kodak is further simplifying its existing portfolio by renaming the PROSPER Plus 1/1W and PROSPER Plus 2/2W models to PROSPER Plus 10 and PROSPER Plus 20. Together with the KODAK PROSPER Print Bar, the PROSPER Plus family offers printers and finishing companies scalable printing options. Existing customers of the PROSPER S Series will continue to receive comprehensive support, with upgrade options available as production requirements evolve.
“This new addition to the PROSPER portfolio reflects our ongoing investment and continued commitment to the printing industry. With the PROSPER Plus 5, Kodak is helping print shops to modernise existing production facilities, tap into new revenue opportunities and deliver the personalisation, traceability and flexibility that today’s markets demand,” commented Laura Cole, VP, Pricing and Product Management, Kodak.
