K 2025: Sun Chemical
presents colour and PPS solutions

Sun Chemical will be presenting a comprehensive portfolio of colourants and high-performance polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) products at K 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for plastics and rubber, from 8 to 15 October in Düsseldorf.

These include innovations for colouring plastics, functional effects, new pigments, advanced effect coatings and colour solutions for fibres and e-mobility. In addition, PPS engineering compounds and PPS types for applications ranging from electric drives in automobiles to drinking water systems will also be presented.

Colourants for plastics applications

Sun Chemical colourant solutions meet stringent regulations, from food contact requirements to eco-label compliance, and support requirements such as heat stability for engineering plastics, NIR light management, low distortion in HDPE, fibre spinning, recycling and biodegradability. ‘K is a global platform that brings together innovative market leaders in plastics and offers the opportunity to connect directly with customers, brand partners and industry thought leaders,’ said Christof Kujat, Global Head Industry Segment Plastics, Colour Materials, Sun Chemical. ‘At this year’s show, we will showcase our latest developments in dyes and pigments that combine performance, purity and regulatory compliance to meet the changing demands of global markets.’

Innovations in PPS compounds

As the world’s leading manufacturer of PPS compounds, Sun Chemical and its parent company DIC Corporation offer more than 250 varieties. The most important PPS solutions include highly developed plastic materials mixed with various additives and modifiers to achieve specific performance characteristics such as increased heat resistance, chemical stability, mechanical strength or dimensional stability for demanding applications. For example, for coolant pipes in motor vehicles, or to ensure heat shock resistance, minimal dimensional deviations and dielectric strength in hybrid/electric vehicles, and to reduce the coil surface temperature in electric motors.

‘Sun Chemical will further expand its position as the market leader in PPS performance at K 2025,’ said Guido Pengemann, Sales Manager, PPS Europe, Sun Chemical. ‘Our broad range of PPS solutions – from resins for thermal management and e-mobility to reinforced compounds for drinking water applications – is designed to meet the changing demands of the industry in terms of sustainability, reliability and technical performance.’
