Wasserbasierte Pigmenttinten
Tiger technology by Mimaki

Mimaki Europe, a leading manufacturer of industrial inkjet printers and cutting systems, has announced the launch of AP50 water-based pigment ink, developed for use with the Tiger600-1800TS. With this solution, Mimaki is bringing its flagship technology to the advertising industry, offering high-quality and environmentally friendly solutions for printing outdoor advertising such as blueback and citylight posters.

‘The use of the Tiger600-1800TS in advertising technology is a game changer,’ says Arjen Evertse, Director of Sales at Mimaki Europe. “Current trends in the outdoor advertising sector point to growing demand for regional customisation and smaller campaigns. As print runs per design become smaller and smaller, traditional offset printing is proving increasingly unprofitable – and opening up new opportunities for digital printing. With the introduction of our portfolio of water-based technologies in this market, we are offering print shops a new way to produce impressive posters in high volumes with the outstanding quality, speed and sustainability that Mimaki is known for.”

AP50 pigment ink has been developed for printing graphics with short turnaround times and, with its excellent drying properties, ensures realistic colour reproduction and sharp, smudge-proof images. The ink has been developed for digitally coated paper types, similar to the paper used in latex and solvent printing, and can be integrated into existing poster production workflows.

With 10kg CMYK ink tanks and an integrated mini jumbo feed system for rolls of up to 300kg, the Tiger600-1800TS enables long production runs. Mimaki’s RasterLink7 RIP software with ink saving function allows users to optimise ink consumption. The integrated PICT monitoring tool provides real-time information on printer status and ink consumption.

‘With AP50 ink, we combine Mimaki’s colour expertise with innovations in water-based inks to enable sustainable high-speed poster production,’ says Arjen Evertse.
