Heimtextil 2025
Sustainability from Mimaki

Mimaki Europe, a leading supplier of industrial inkjet printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers, has announced its participation in the global trade fair Heimtextil 2025 (Frankfurt, 14-17 January). As the world’s largest trade fair for home and contract textiles, Mimaki will present the new and sustainable TRAPIS system at stand B96 in hall 3.0.

With its environmentally friendly two-stage textile transfer printing process for pigment ink, the TRAPIS system is set to revolutionise the textile industry. As no pre-treatment or washing of the textiles is required, TRAPIS can reduce water consumption by up to 90%. The virtually waterless solution is suitable for a wide range of applications such as home textiles, as one type of ink can be used to produce colourful prints on different materials. The associated TP410 pigment ink has ZDHC MRSL Level 3 certification and bears the bluesign® APPROVED seal, making it an environmentally friendly solution for textile applications. Only inkjet printers and letterpress calenders are required and print service providers gain access to a high-quality, sustainable textile printing process. The system requires little space and there is no need for costly wastewater treatment plants. According to Mimaki, the solution is also easy to operate without complex maintenance work.

The TRAPIS Roadshow

Following the announcement of the system, Heimtextil is a stopover on the global TRAPIS roadshow, which began in November with the Mimaki Textile Day Open House in Amsterdam. The roadshow will continue in 2025, stopping off in countries such as Poland and Spain; further stops will be announced next year. Marc Verbeem, Product Management Supervisor at Mimaki Europe, said: ‘As a global hub for innovation and creativity in the home textile industry, Heimtextil gives us the opportunity to showcase TRAPIS. The technology not only simplifies production but also significantly reduces the environmental impact to meet the changing needs of the industry. We look forward to working with the textile industry and demonstrating how TRAPIS can achieve colourful, high-quality prints on a wide range of materials while prioritising sustainability.’
