Colour Management Symposium

On 25 and 26 February 2026, the industry will meet for the tenth time at the Colour Management Symposium (CMS) in Munich, where over 200 participants are expected to attend. Since the first symposium in 2008, Fogra’s CMS has developed into an industry event where the who’s who of colour management meet.

Experts from all continents come together, for whom the CMS plays a central role in the colour management community. Discussions focus on colour and the challenges posed by different printing processes. The speakers are users from the fields of offset, digital, decorative and industrial printing. They will use problems and lessons learned to illustrate how colour quality and customer satisfaction can be ensured. The spectrum of topics ranges from packaging printing and proofing to special colours in CMYK+X and multicolour to colour consistency in complex materials in industrial printing. A highlight will be an AI battle in which practitioners report on how AI tools can be used in colour management and image retouching. In the live competition ‘Human vs. AI’, two participants will receive the same briefing: classic tools vs. AI-based tools. After 90 minutes, the audience will decide which implementation is more convincing.

Among other things, the symposium will highlight digital printing on steel and how FOGRA59 can offer a competitive advantage. In addition, the speakers will address topics such as ‘measuring in images,’ ink savings, and the application of artificial intelligence in colour correction.

The content focus is an important reason for participating in the symposium. Dr Abhay Sharma from Toronto Metropolitan University says that he is particularly interested in developments in the field of expanded colour gamut printing. Miguel Avellaneda from Giesecke + Devrient Mobile ePayments says: ‘The programme presents practical solutions from which we can learn. The symposium enables us to enrich these solutions by sharing our experiences in order to tackle new challenges in the industry.’ Susanne Nester from GMG takes a similar view: ‘For me, the Fogra Colour Management Symposium is the perfect platform for gaining new inspiration and making valuable contacts.’

Until 31 October 2025, participants will receive an early bird discount of 15%, and member companies will receive an additional 30% discount.
