The European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association (ESMA) has concluded its annual General Assembly in Milan, bringing together industry leaders for insightful discussions, networking opportunities and the election of a new Board of Directors. At the meeting, Tracey Brown of Meteor Inkjet was appointed as the new Chair of ESMA.
The event began with two keynote speeches. Enrico Barboglio from Stratego Group gave an overview of the current situation of the Italian printing sector, followed by Stefania Bolla from IXLA, who presented state-of-the-art technologies for printing security documents.
The highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the ESMA Honourable Ambassador Award to Elaine Campling, the long-standing Chair of ESMA’s Health, Safety and Environment Committee. In her acceptance speech, Elaine Campling said: ‘I have been privileged to serve on the Committee for over twenty years. It is difficult to express in words how proud I am to have been appointed an Honorary Ambassador of ESMA. This award means a great deal to me as it comes from an organisation with a great reputation that is constantly evolving and remains strongly focused on delivering value to members.’
As part of its governance cycle, ESMA has elected a new Board of Directors. Tracey Brown will lead the Board as Chair, supported by Vice Chair Steve Wakefield (Fujifilm) and Treasurer Holly Steedman (IST IN-TECH). Other board members are Aliasgar Eranpurwala (Seiko Instruments), Pietro Giuliani (Saati), Friedrich Goldner (Marabu), Robin McMillan (Sun Chemical), Marion Niland (Lotus Holland), Jason Remnant (Ricoh), Debbie Thorp (Inkjet Connect), Jan van Schaik (SPS TechnoScreen), Samuel Wagner (Sefar), and Manuel Zuckerman (Fimor).
Commenting on her new role, Tracey Brown said: ‘I have been an avid supporter of ESMA since 2018 and it has been a privilege to work with such an important organisation. I’m incredibly proud of what we offer our members – from expert technical advice to invaluable networking opportunities. With the launch of the new Screen Print Innovations (SPI) exhibition and the undeniable impact of the Industrial Print Integration (IPI) conference, the only event of its kind in the world, ESMA continues to go from strength to strength. I look forward to working closely with the Board, the management team and the wider ESMA community to build on our successes and continue to deliver tangible value to our members.’
