IWS Workflow Server
Impressed presents LFP version

Impressed, an expert in the automation of printing processes, is launching a special version of the Impressed Workflow Server (IWS) for large format printing. An interface is also available for the integration of IWS with advanter print+sign from Günther Business Solutions, an ERP system for large format printing.

‘There is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of automation in the LFP sector,’ says Karsten Schwarze, Product Manager at Impressed. ‘Despite the high requirements, production processes can also be automated to a very large extent in large format printing. This can reduce the error rate and significantly increase added value.’ According to Schwarze, the rule is ‘the smaller the print run, the lower the margin, the more important automation is’.

A range of important functions

These include the automatic creation of a job ticket, a standardised preflight, the automatic correction of common errors in PDF files, a RIP connection for production control and the Impressed Workflow Server, which works together with Enfocus applications.

Interface to ERP advanter print+sign

An interface between IWS and the advanter print+sign ERP system from Günther Business Solutions, which specialises in large format printing, has recently been made available. advanter covers all management functions in the LFP sector, from sales, purchasing and warehousing to target and actual costing, order management, time and material recording, dispatch and invoicing. Karsten Schwarze: ‘advanter print+sign and IWS work closely together from job creation to production and invoicing. This is holistic automation across the entire value chain in large format printing. More efficiency is not possible.’

IWS and advanter in practical use

The combination of the Impressed Workflow Server with advanter print+sign is in use at DCP Digitaldruck & Profiltechnik in Gütersloh. Oliver Knaup, CEO of DCP, summarises: ‘The integration of Impressed Workflow Server and advanter print+sign has become indispensable for our way of working. The solution has been very well received by our team and shows us every day how important it is to drive automation and digitalisation forward.’
