The event was hosted by SCREEN partner ‘Die Pharmadrucker’ at the production site in Melsungen, Hesse. During the two-day event, managing directors, entrepreneurs, finishing specialists and workflow experts from the EMEA region met to explore how SCREEN’s Truepress JET innovations combine the flexibility of digital inkjet printing with the print quality of the offset process.
Digital printing for the pharmaceutical industry
Visitors experienced live how the SCREEN Truepress JET 520HD+ (for colour printing) and Truepress JET 520HD Mono (for monochrome printing) print pharmaceutical leaflets with high opacity, without primer or additional pre-treatment on thin paper. Following the print demonstration, guests were able to see the end-to-end production workflow in a live production environment with solutions from technology partners such as MBO, Videk and Delfort. The integration of these inspection and finishing solutions enables leaflets to be checked for full regulatory compliance. The integration of the prepress and finishing solutions with SCREEN’s own workflow software EQUIOS also enables manual interventions and set-up times to be minimised.
‘As a company that specialises exclusively in leaflet printing, we know exactly the challenges our colleagues face. Organising this event together with our printing technology partner SCREEN was an excellent opportunity to show how far inkjet technology has come – and how ready it is for this highly regulated sector,’ said Felix Fischer, Managing Director of “Die Pharmadrucker”.
