Under the motto ‘Beauty is colourful. We are the colour experts’, Sun Chemical will be presenting new effect pigments in electrifying colours for the cosmetics and beauty industry at in-cosmetics Global in Amsterdam from 8 to 10 April 2025.
Sun Chemical will introduce two new metallic effect pigments in the Innovation Zone of the show. Chione Electric Scarlet SR90D, a red shimmering effect pigment, and Chione Electric Sienna SC90D, a copper shimmering effect pigment with enhanced chroma, have been developed based on patented technology and are approved worldwide as colour additives for cosmetics, skin, body and sun care products. According to Sun Chemical, the new pigments do not discolour, do not bleed and are UV-stable.
The mica-based effect pigments were developed to inspire formulators to come up with new ideas for hybrid and multifunctional product developments for cosmetics, skin, body and sun products. They are versatile and can be used to create skin tones with coverage and integrated radiance. The effect pigments do not require grinding or sanding and have excellent oil absorption properties.
‘We are very excited to share our latest innovations with our customers at the leading industry event for cosmetics and personal care,’ said Ed Webb, Global Director of Cosmetics at Sun Chemical. ‘Since the launch of our popular pink effect pigment Chione Electric Fuchsia SF90D, customers have been looking for more carmine-free solutions to meet the demand for vegan products, so we are excited to expand this product line with new vibrant colours.’ Visitors can learn more about Sun Chemical’s solutions at the Sun Chemical booth #1A10.
