Textile Printing & Sustainability
15. and 16. Oktober in Düsseldorf

Four weeks before the start of the second edition of the Textile Printing & Sustainability (TPS) conference, the programme is presented. The presentations by experts from industry and research centres will focus on technology choices, automation practices and environmentally conscious business models. The event will take place on 15 and 16 October 2024 at the Radisson Blue Conference Hotel Düsseldorf and is aimed at audiences from all stages of the textile value chain.

‘We all feel the necessity and pressure of the EU Green Deal. Can it turn into an advantage for the European industry, which will then lead by example?’ asks Peter Buttiens from the European Specialist Printing Manufacturers Association, the organiser of the TPS. ‘Even though decoration is only one part of the textile market, we also want to work on the next steps towards a healthier and more sustainable environment and share our expertise.’

Daniel Waterkamp from bluesign will provide information on the impact of the requirements of the Digital Product Passport, while Andreas Bayer from the German Society for Textile Chemistry will analyse the recently introduced Ecodesign Regulation for sustainable products. Stefan Schmidt from the Industrieverband Veredlung, Garne, Technische Textilien will be discussing sustainable textile training programmes. Dr Judith Deriu from the University of Innsbruck presents her research on plant-based screen printing inks. Debbie McKeegan from Texintel explores the shift in the supply chain from design to production, and David Sweetnam from Keypoint Intelligence presents the results of a market study on direct-to-film (DTF). Finally, designer Samira Lafkioui from Polygonal will take a look at the future of garment quality.

The conference programme will be complemented by technology and solution presentations from leading suppliers of printing systems, workflow software, inks and consumables. These will include tabletop equipment from Armor, Avient, Balta-Captiqs, Brenntag, Brother, Centexbel, CHT, Digital Serigraphic Technologies, Fiery, Fujifilm Ink Solutions, Hohenstein, Kornit, Kronos, Marabu, Meteor Inkjet, Mimaki, Neenah Coldenhove, Norafin and Orion. On 14 October, TPS delegates are invited to take a tour of the nearby Kornit Experience Centre. There, various Kornit solutions for fashion, home textiles, sportswear and customised design can be viewed.

ESMA

ESMA has been active in the industrial printing sector since 1990 and, as a European association for screen and digital printing manufacturers, has developed into an organisation representing industrial, functional and speciality printing. Over the years, ESMA has developed the concept of the Knowledge Hub, which today provides cross-technology expertise to almost 70 European manufacturer members and technology partners. Every ESMA member enjoys favourable conditions at the major trade fairs and ESMA’s own conferences. Other benefits include access to technical seminars and committee meetings. Partners and members receive support and promotion in relation to health, safety and environmental regulations and participate in the setting of industry standards.
