Colbert Packaging
LearyVIEW Print Solution

To increase efficiency and fulfil compliance requirements, the US company integrated the LearyVIEW Print Solution, developed by EyeC and W. H. Leary, into its production processes.

Nick Stober, Director of Quality Systems and Compliance at Colbert Packaging: ‘We needed a system that would allow us to scan products within our corporate network prior to despatch. This is particularly important before a shipment is sent overseas to ensure that defects are identified early and costly returns are avoided.’

Error prevention

The system acts as a learning tool and can recognise errors at an early stage. Jeff Bates, National Sales Manager, W. H. Leary, commented: ‘If you spot something in the middle of the process, you can correct it immediately and avoid further waste. By eliminating human sorting labour, the system enables accuracy, speed and consistency.

Sustainability

Wanda Speer explains that the investment has not only improved efficiency, but also attracted new customers. ‘From a sustainability perspective, reducing waste, minimising rework and maximising labour efficiency are in line with Colbert Packaging’s long-term goals.’

Technical support

Colbert Packaging welcomed the technical support and Stober explained: ‘The response time of the Leary service is exceptional. With other providers we could wait up to two weeks for technical support, but with Leary we usually get help within 24 hours.’
