Roland DG, a leading global provider of digital printing solutions, has announced its collaboration with long-time technology partner BWT Alpine F1 Team in the search for Europe’s next best car wrap. A workshop will be held on 7 November 2024 at Alpine’s technical centre in Oxfordshire, UK. Ten car wrappers from Europe have been invited to the event, called ‘The Wrap Academy’.

The participants will be challenged to demonstrate creativity, precision and craftsmanship by wrapping the world-famous F1 team’s show car live and will get the chance to accompany the BWT Alpine F1 Team’s wrap crew at a motorsport event taking place in Las Vegas on 24 November 2024. From the pit stop to the wrap shop.

Yianni Charalambous, owner of Yiannimizeder, a London-based luxury car customisation workshop, will be looking after the participants during the event. Charalambous says: ‘If someone had offered me an opportunity like this when I was just establishing myself, I would have jumped at the chance. There are brilliantly talented car wrappers all over Europe and this partnership with Roland DG and the BWT Alpine F1 Team will give the lucky few a unique chance to learn from the best. It will undoubtedly accelerate what is possible for them in this industry.’

Stephen Davis, EMEA Marketing Director & UK President at Roland DG: ‘We are always keen to support emerging creative talent and to do this by working with our partners at BWT Alpine F1 Team to give aspiring car wrappers a platform to hone their craft could be the most exciting initiative we have launched to date. The Wrap Academy promises to be a highlight in the car wrapping calendar, providing access to invaluable insight and exposure to the best of the best in the industry.’

‘We are thrilled to be working with Roland DG to nurture the next generation of car wrapping talent,’ added Joe Mcnamara, Paint & Graphics Manager at BWT Alpine F1 Team. ‘Motorsport provides the ultimate testing ground to prove the durability of our graphics and printed products in the world’s toughest conditions – all with the help of Roland DG’s printing technology. Much like Formula 1, this event is all about discovering talent with a relentless pursuit of accuracy, precision and high performance in the world of vehicle wrapping. We look forward to seeing the creativity and innovation that the competitors will display both on the table and on the track.’
