Third SCREEN label printing machine
at Reflex Labels

Reflex Labels, a label printing group in the UK, has continued to evolve by constantly investing in the latest label printing solutions in the UK and internationally. In 2024 alone, the company has invested £14 million in modernisation to continue to provide customers with high quality labels at affordable prices and fast turnaround times.

‘We are constantly looking for ways to provide the best solutions for our customers,’ said Ian Kendall, CEO of Reflex Labels. ‘Our investment in three digital label presses from SCREEN is more than just buying new equipment; it’s about expanding our ability to deliver exceptional labels that meet our customers’ needs in terms of quality and turnaround times. To do this, we needed a reliable partner with a reliable digital press.’

Trust and reliability

The first contact between Reflex Labels and SCREEN was after the acquisition of an Australian company that was using a Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI-S with hardly any downtime. This confirmed the decision to invest in digital labelling solutions from SCREEN. Following the installation of two Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI-S presses, Reflex Labels increasingly required high opacity white printing on clear plastic substrates. As the current SCREEN machines were already producing an optical density of white for full coverage on transparent films that was comparable to analogue printing, the team decided to invest in a third machine.

The right tool for the right job

For Reflex Labels, this investment was about the flexibility to choose the most productive printing process for each job. When switching from digital printing to analogue printing, Reflex Labels experts ensure that the design and colours remain the same. ‘That’s a key part of what we do,’ said Kendall. ‘Our aim is to produce the same beautiful label and we have a huge army of experts who guarantee and maintain our colour management. Regardless of the printing method used, nothing leaves our facilities with a Delta E value of more than two, and that takes a lot of skill, commitment and investment in the right technology.’

Partnership for joint success

Reflex Labels continues to rely on SCREEN digital inkjet presses to remain successful in the label printing industry. ‘It’s about meeting and exceeding expectations,’ concluded Kendall. ‘The excellent print quality allows us to meet and exceed customer expectations while being a robust piece of hardware. With other digital technologies, you rarely install just one unit. Usually you have to install a second label press in case the other one breaks down. At sites where we have a SCREEN unit, that’s not a problem – it just works. It meets or exceeds our expectations, which allows us to focus on growing our business.’
