In Dr. Agnes Knorr, Fogra gains a technically skilled executive who brings extensive research experience to the Security Applications and Print Finishing department. A key focus of her work will be the further development of new testing procedures.
As of autumn 2025, Dr. Agnes Knorr heads the Security Applications and Print Finishing department at the Fogra Research Institute. She succeeds Arne Müller, who held this position from 2008 to 2025. Müller, who joined Fogra in 1988, will remain with the organization as a staff member. Previously, Knorr led the Backend and Test group within the Micro-dosing Systems department at Fraunhofer EMFT. Her career began after her studies in mechanical engineering with a doctorate focused on the biomedical application of piezoelectric micromembrane pumps. At Fraunhofer EMFT, she managed both publicly funded initiatives and industry projects, optimizing microfluidic components for various application areas. In her new role, Knorr oversees the accredited card testing laboratory. A major focus of her work will be the department’s scientific activities aimed at developing improved procedures that go beyond existing tests. Innovations will be investigated and new test methods devised within the framework of publicly funded individual and consortium projects. Thanks to the laboratory’s flexible accreditation, these specially developed methods can eventually be offered as accredited tests.
