The requirements for security solutions have increased in recent years. The question of how modern RFID technology and encryption can be integrated into conventional systems to ensure a higher level of security is becoming increasingly important. Schreiner PrinTrust is responding to this development with a portfolio of security solutions.
The number of cameras in public areas appears to be steadily increasing. Video surveillance in non-security-critical areas such as car parks offers a number of advantages. Licence plates can be recognised by camera and printed tickets can make life easier for drivers. The situation is different in security-critical environments. ‘Particularly in security-critical areas, it is clear that even modern video systems alone are not a reliable solution. They won’t get you very far because the risk of the systems being manipulated or circumvented increases. This is where a combination with technologies such as RFID is absolutely essential,’ explains Dr Kai Schnapauff, Head of Schreiner PrinTrust.
More security
The combination of optical and digital technologies enables graduated security concepts. In addition to cameras, vehicle labelling with labels stuck behind the windscreen is used. Depending on requirements, security features can be integrated into the high-tech labels. The basis is usually formed by labels that can be quickly and clearly recognised by security personnel and show whether the vehicle has the necessary authorisation. Security features in the label can enable authenticity to be checked. RFID chips that can be read automatically from a few metres away are possible for even greater security. In the highest configuration level, RFID technology offers encrypted communication and secure identification.
The security labels from Schreiner PrinTrust offer customised protection. A certified, state-of-the-art hardware security module and ISO-certified security production guarantee consistently high security standards for the processing of confidential encryption data. ‘The future,’ says Dr Kai Schnapauff, ’clearly belongs to hybrid security technologies that intelligently combine visual and digital features. Only those who combine technology from both worlds – analogue and digital – can effectively protect highly sensitive areas.’
