The Fogra Research Institute for Media Technologies will once again be represented at drupa this year together with the flexographic printing trade association DFTA. The partnership already proved its worth in 2016, as the two institutions complement each other. The joint stand of the two associations is located in Hall 11, Stand F71.
‘We are looking forward to meeting our international members and customers in person again. Many of our services as a research, certification and testing institute are now digitalised: for example, print shops can carry out PSO certification online if they wish. Or. Companies can train their employees with the Fogra Web Academy’s digital training programme. This is precisely why personal exchange is particularly important to us,’ explains Dr Eduard Neufeld, Managing Director of the institute.
‘As the largest flexographic printing network in Europe, we are looking forward to the discussions with our members and customers from Germany and abroad. With our two Technology Centres for Flexo Printing (TZ) and Competence Centre Digital Printing (CCD) as well as our Flexo Printing Academy, we have a wide range of further training courses, workshops, consultations and scientific printing trials on offer. We want to be clearly visible at drupa and make ourselves accessible to an international audience. We are also offering our members the opportunity to use our stand as a meet and greet point,’ adds DFTA Managing Director Nicola Kopp-Rostek.
Thematically, Fogra covers the areas of prepress, offset and digital printing, materials, print finishing as well as training courses and symposia. The DFTA team will be on hand to answer any questions visitors may have about flexographic and packaging printing along the value chain.
Energy efficiency is one of the main topics. In addition to a current research project, Fogra will be offering various tests, certifications and practical assistance for saving energy. Presentations on this and other sustainability topics are planned at Touchpoint Sustainability. Fogra offers its partners and members the opportunity to use the stand space for customer meetings. ‘Because we also see our stand as a platform for dialogue,’ explains Dr Neufeld.
On the DFTA side, workshops are planned at the stand, various presentations on current topics in Touchpoint Sustainability and Bridging Industry with Research and Education as well as DFTA Guided Tours ‘Packaging Printing – Technology and Innovation’ on 29 May and 6 June.
The highlight of the joint trade fair appearance is the stand party on 4 July from 5 pm. Fogra and DFTA cordially invite customers, members and interested parties to attend.
