Epson presented the new Monna Lisa ML-13000 industrial textile printer at drupa. A digital direct-to-fabric printer with a compact footprint, a wide range of functions and durable pigment inks designed to enable efficient inline print production.
The ML-13000 is a direct-to-fabric textile printer that requires no additional accessories for pre- and post-treatment, steaming or washing of textile materials. In addition to seven printing colours, it has three chemicals that can be used for the pre-treatment, overcoating and density enhancement of fabrics.
Sustainability
The textile industry produces around 20 per cent of industrial wastewater worldwide. With the ML-13000, water consumption can be reduced by up to 97 per cent compared to conventional processes, as pre- and post-treatment processes are eliminated. Digital on-demand textile printing makes it possible to print the exact quantities required in order to reduce surplus. The ML-13000 pigment inks and the chemicals for pre- and post-treatment fulfil several environmental standards and are certified.
High print quality
The PrecisonCore printheads can reduce banding and graininess. In addition, the multi-layer screening process is designed to prevent the formation of moiré effects and the precise feed control ensures exact fabric transport without creasing.
Uninterrupted production
The printer displays the current printer status, operating instructions and regular maintenance tasks via an LCD touch panel. The hot-swappable 1.6-litre ink cartridges enable uninterrupted production. A replaceable cloth roller automatically wipes the print head nozzles clean and can reduce manual maintenance work. The ink mist extraction system also prevents ink residue from sticking to the nozzles. Genesta pigment ink and pre- and post-processing chemicals provide the flexibility to print on a variety of fabrics for a wide range of applications.
