On 2 December 2024, the Bundesverband Druck und Medien e. V. will be holding an infoKompakt online event together with lawyer Carsten Schucht to provide information on the amended Product Safety Ordinance and what printing companies need to know now.
The new Product Safety Regulation will bring changes for companies from 13 December 2024. It applies to all consumer products and therefore affects all companies in the printing and media industry that produce and distribute books, brochures, gift items, packaging and other products for consumers. The new obligation to carry out a risk analysis and other changes require companies to adapt their processes in order to ensure the safety of their products in accordance with legal requirements in the future.
In the online event infoKompakt on 2 December 2024 from 14:00 to 16:00, product safety law expert Dr Carsten Schucht, lawyer and partner at Produktkanzlei, will explain the new obligations. He will focus in particular on the risk analysis that every manufacturing company will have to carry out in future, as well as on manufacturer labelling and the new requirements for distance selling. In addition to the legal basics, the event will provide practical recommendations for implementing the new requirements. The aim is to enable printing companies to integrate the risk analysis into their day-to-day operations and minimise potential legal risks.
Participation in the online event infoKompakt ‘The new Product Safety Regulation – What printing companies need to know now’ is free of charge for members of the print and media associations. A participation fee of €125 applies for non-members. After the event, all participants will receive the BVDM guide to the new product safety regulation.
