38th Leipzig Graphic Exchange – Play Spaces

‘Spiel-Räume’ is the theme of the 38th Leipziger Grafikbörse. The exhibition, which will take place from 23 November 2024 to 26 January 2025 at the Museum für Druckkunst Leipzig, presents contemporary graphic art. The submissions from 87 artists from Germany, France, Ukraine and the Netherlands address the exhibition’s theme in different ways. On display are physical ‘play spaces’ such as toys, playgrounds, landscapes or rooms.

BVDM business climate November 2024 – Business climate declines slightly

Following slight growth in October, the mood among companies in the German print and media industry deteriorated in November 2024. The business climate index determined by the BVDM recorded a seasonally and calendar-adjusted decline of 1.4 per cent compared to the previous month. Sentiment on company floors regarding current and future business development deteriorated slightly. The outcome of the US elections and the unclear political situation following the end of the ‘traffic light’ government are preventing business uncertainty from easing.

BVDM warns against – Bureaucratic hurdles for environmental claims

The German Printing and Media Industries Federation (BVDM) firmly rejects the pre-certification procedure for environmental claims proposed in the draft Green Claims Directive. The BVDM is calling for a comprehensive evaluation of the existing regulations before further new bureaucratic requirements are introduced. Additional certification obligations would lead to considerable costs and legal uncertainties, especially for small and medium-sized companies.

Early federal elections: The German printing industry stands ready

The Bundesverband Druck und Medien e. V. (German Printing and Media Industries Federation) vehemently disagrees with the statements made by Federal Election Commissioner Dr Ruth Brand that new elections are not possible due to a shortage of paper and a lack of capacity at printing companies. The German printing industry is ready and able to print the ballot papers.
